Applying to the Summer Academy is easy.....
Step One
Take the 2009 Summer Academy application to your counselor or teacher and ask that he/she fill out the endorsement section of the application, (If you are using the form from our catalog, please ask your counselor or teacher for an endorsement letter and attach to your application form.)
Obtain an official high school transcript (sealed) through the Fall semester of the 2008 - 2009 Academic Year.
Note: Incomplete applications or failure to submit required attachment(s) may result in a delay in the asssessment of your application and timely enrollment in your desired class.
If you are a returning summer academy student, you are considered a Fellow to the Summer Academy program. As such, you are eligible for an additional discount to the course fee if you help out at the orientation and/or with the distribution of catalogs at your high school. If you are interested in helping, please complete and return the Fellows Application form with your Summer Academy application. As a Fellow, you are still required to submit an endorsement and an updated transcript from your high school.
Indicate your choice of course(s) from among those recommended courses on this site or in our 2009 Summer Session/Summer Academy catalog.
Note: Students interested in taking course(s) during Summer Session 2 need to make sure the course(s) will not conflict with their Fall 2009 semester schedule at their high school.
It is recommended that you take no more than 5 units per Summer Session. Please keep in mind that some of the courses have limited enrollment and may not be available, so please indicate a second choice class.
Important Reminder: If the class you want want requires you to take a placement exam [Hispanic Studies (Spanish)], other Foreign languages, Math, or Chemistry, you must provide us with the results of your test before you can be registered for the class. Please send the results of your placement exam to the address below. A copy of the results is required for your Summer Academy student file. Click here for detailed Placement Exam Information.
